There must be two slim rings encasing the letters, as well as two slim diamonds on either end of the letters. On the fake, the diamond symbols appear wider than the authentic.

2. Hardware

Metal plate rivets on every authentic Hermes Lindy have to have a very, very faint border. It should not be fully covered and is evenly spaced from each other.  

Another way to know if Hermes Lindy is real vs fake is the engraving. Similar to the twist lock, you can also find the HERMÈS-PARIS engraved on the hardware of the double-closing strap. Again, the text must appear sharp, razor-thin, and rounded. Compared to an authentic Lindy, the fake has thicker lines, making it appear less finely applied.

5. Logo Print

The logo is almost always the easiest way to tell if an Hermes Lindy is real vs fake. At the very center of the bag, under the front flap, you can find the printed HERMÈS – PARIS – MADE IN FRANCE logo. It should be the same color as the hardware.

Observe the spacing and sizes. HERMÈS should be the largest size, followed by PARIS, and MADE IN FRANCE should be the tiniest. A Lindy’s structure is also very distinct. It appears saggy and soft, yet boxy. On either end of its rounded rectangular body are handles, connected by a non-detachable leather strap. 

7. Stitching
