How to Tell Real vs Fake Prada Bag: BT0779

How to Spot a Fake Prada BT0779 Bag

1. Stitching

I always advise you to check out the stitching of the bag before purchasing one. In the Prada BT0779, the stitches used should be the same color as the leather to guarantee its authenticity. In addition, any stitching that is loose or misaligned is a foolproof way to spot a fake Prada.

Always remember that a genuine Prada handbag is always perfectly stitched at a consistent slight angle compared to a fake one’s straight stitch.

2. Logo

One of the most obvious signs you should also look out for in a fake Prada bag is its logo.

Counterfeit ones have small spaces in between the letters which makes the characters blurry. On the other hand, an authentic Prada should have bigger spaces and can be easily readable at a far distance.

Tip: Examine the letter “R” on the logo tag. A missing curve or gap between the loop and leg means it’s a fake Prada item.

3. Side of the Bag

The protruding leather found at the side of the Prada BT0779 should have a unique shape and it should be almost half the length (height) of the bag.

The fake one can’t copy this as it has a shorter leather strap and an odd shape different from the original one.

4. Hardware

The hardware, or buckles and any other external additions of a real Prada bag should typically come in three colors only: silver, gold, and rose-toned. A bag with a combination of these colors or something entirely different like bronze (which looks like gold in some angles) is definitely a fake one.

I also advise you to try opening and closing the zippers to see if it runs smoothly. On a real Prada bag, the zippers should work perfectly without catching or snagging at the fabric. Furthermore, all authentic products should have the words “Prada” engraved on the hardware. So if you don’t see any etching, it’s not the real deal.

Did You Know? Prada uses five brands—Ykk, Lampo, Riri, Opti, and Ipi—for the zippers of their bags.

5. Interior

The interior part of an authentic bag should be made of high-quality materials such as Nappa leather or jacquard nylon fabric. It must also have the Prada pattern printed upside down on the lining fabric and vice versa.

On the genuine Prada BT0779, the interior should also have the Prada logo etched just below the zipper portion. Again, look out for the differences between these two logos. A fake one used a bigger font size with a thicker border surrounding the letters, compared to the genuine’s small font and thinner border.

Furthermore, the real Prada BT0779 has another pocket section inside. So if you don’t see two sections—a zipped one and a pocket interior, that only means you’re looking at a fake Prada bag.

6. Authenticity Card

It’s really hard to tell the difference at first but it’s all about looking for the specific details. First, you should check the color of the card.

A real Prada bag has a pure white authenticity card while the fake usually has a blue tint. After, examine the back of the card and look for the small details. The real one should have perfectly aligned and even-spaced characters. Meanwhile, the fake Prada bag’s authenticity card has letters that are indented. You should also carefully inspect the font used for the logo as counterfeits show less precise printing.

Last but not the least, the best way to find out if your Prada handbag is fake or real is through the serial number and purse style information indicated at the authenticity card.

Tip: Contact Prada directly via their website to check if your bag’s serial number is valid.

The originality of Prada made it one of the top exclusive brands today. As a result, many counterfeit Prada handbags have been crowding the market. Hopefully, with these guidelines, you’ll be able to spot a fake Prada bag from the real deal.
